Visa and travel, without the confusion

What you need depends on the passport you travel on. Many of our patients don't need a visa at all.

Indian passport holders

No visa needed.

Just book your flight, and we'll plan treatment around your dates.

OCI card holders

No visa needed.

Your OCI card gives you lifelong, multiple-entry travel to India and covers medical treatment. Carry it together with your foreign passport.

Everyone else

You'll need an e-Medical visa.

You apply online yourself, on the official Government of India website. Not every nationality is eligible, so check the list there first. If yours isn't on it, you'd apply through an Indian embassy or consulate instead, and we can still give you the clinic's letter.

The application asks for a letter from the clinic in India. Once your dates are set, we'll send it to you.

Travelling with someone? Up to two companions, family or friends, can come with you on an e-Medical Attendant visa. Each person applies separately.

Rules change, so check the official site before you apply.

When to apply
At least 4 days before you arrive, and no more than 120 days ahead. We suggest applying 2 to 4 weeks before you fly.
What you upload
A photo of your passport's main page, a recent photo with a white background, and the clinic's letter (PDF).
Where to apply
Only on the official Government of India e-Visa website.

Good to know

  • You fill in the application yourself. We guide you, but we can't apply for you.
  • The fee is set by the government, depends on your nationality, and isn't refunded even if the visa is refused. There's no extra charge for “urgent” e-visas, so avoid look-alike sites that say otherwise.
  • An e-visa can't be extended. That's one reason we plan a few spare days into your trip.
  • Travel on the same passport you applied with, and carry a printout of your approval. Check it says “Granted” before you fly.
  • Fingerprints are taken when you arrive at immigration.

Last checked against the official site: October 2026.

Planning your trip

  • How many days you need depends on your treatment. Your written plan tells you before you book anything.
  • Some treatments, like crowns, are made in a lab between appointments. Those days are free for family or sightseeing.
  • Don't book a long flight for the same day as an extraction or surgery. Your dentist will tell you when it's safe to fly home.
  • Bring recent X-rays and a list of the medicines you take.

Send us your X-rays. We'll send back a plan and a price.
